While cavorting through the blogosphere, I keep a tarsier’s eye out for sites of, by and for the people with a love for the written word. The Writer’s Carnival is all that and more. It is one of the most comprehensive sites for writers, with everything from classes, contests, resources, discussion boards, writing prompts, genre-wise posts and articles. Such was my joy on finding this writers’ haven that I executed several high-leaping, celebratory dance steps in my library, knocking the bust of Apollo into the miniature globe. My dignity is fine, thank you.
Why did The Writer’s Carnival inspire wild, abandoned joy in me?
I’ve found my tribe *thumps chest*
A lot of writing sites offer craft and technique advice but The Writer’s Carnival offers the opportunity for beginner and seasoned writers to come together at one place and benefit from each other’s wisdom and experience. You can see other writers online, read their status updates, find writers at the same stage of committing hara-kiri as you are, read fresh work and tap anyone for help. Whether it is feedback on your writing or finding your way out of the abyss of pen-freeze, The Writer’s Carnival is the supportive community every writer needs as a sanctuary and companion on their writing journey.
I signed up immediately as a member. And yes, for free.

Thank you, Zakia! We’re super glad you found us and thank you for doing this post about the site. I loved the cute humour in this piece *thumps chest*, etc. I like your blog, as well, and find it to be both inspiring and resourceful.
Best to you in all your ventures,
